Is this your tribe?

Ari Versluis and Ellie Uyttenbroek call their Project «Exactitudes» – a mix between the words «exact» and «attitude». they collect photos of people who dress the same, and group them into different "urban tribes". A great project, it just comes to show how people think they are very original in the way they dress, but accutally most people are stuck in some kind of urban sub-culture.

My little sister is definitly a "Fille de 7eme", like the girls you see above. Me, well, I didn't find my specific niche, but wierdly enough I recognise my style most in the Bu Ying! haha. Although I'm not Asian, and wear waaaay more scarfs than they do, I have tons of jackets and dresses like that. Anyways, me and an Katina share our closet anyways, so every laundry day I'm a Fille de 7eme. On a usual day I'm just a plain, old Hippie freakster. :-)

Well, Maybe it's not so suprising after all, I've been christmas shopping in Shanghai the past two years. So sad I didn't get to go this year. Stupid financial crisis.

Just another Saturday in the life of V.

I can't believe all the crazy stuff that happened today. William calls me 07 am to tell me he got me a press pass for the book fair, and that he would pick me up in 20 min, and he hoped I charged my camera. If not, I could borrow his Leica. I said thank you, ok, yes and yes!!! First we met up with Salman Rushdie, which he apperently considers a close friend. I felt like such a groupie, I've read all his books, and had a ton of questions. His reading of The Enchantress of Florence was breath-taking. From now on I'm going to read and enjoy his books in an entirely different way. I had no idea how impregnated his texts are with hidden humor and bitter sarcasm. He also signed my book, I felt like a geek, but now I treasure his writing even more.

Next up was the reading and signing of Super Model Vendela Kirebom's Fashion Bible. My god she is skinny!!! Anyways, She's not the sharpest pencil in the box, but smiled pretty and singed books, so I guess everyone was happy. William looked pretty happy next to her, he even got her to sign a book for Mom. Sneakyyyy!!! haha.

Well, enjoy your weekend! I allready opened a bottle of red wine. mmmmmmmm. I leave you with my face crushed in the copyer and a snapshot of the streetlights on my way home.
